about

Sataraš Quartet's debut album Errors and Omissions fully embodies their mantra of "music 5000 miles wide." The tracks traverse time, distance, and influence, but come together in a way that only a well-tuned band can produce - assured, exciting, and at times telepathic. All aspects of the Quartet's musical output is covered: adventurous takes on traditional Balkan tunes, abstract blues and funk, an original jazz ballad, and a seldom-covered John Coltrane classic. The group navigates these stylistic turns with a strong sonic identity and unity of purpose.

The album was recorded and mixed by Blake Helton, and the results are a testament to his golden ears and DIY ingenuity. Chris Griffin mastered the thing, giving it that FM gold sheen. Photojournalist Steve Eberhardt snapped the dynamic group photos at the Red Light Cafe in Atlanta. The original cover artwork by eminent Sarajevo artist and muralist Rikardo Druškić perfectly captures the originality of the music, and Colin Bragg slapped a bunch of text on top.

Currently available for streaming or download. Vinyl will be available February 2020.
